Who is Friedrich Nietzsche?

Nietzsche was born in 1844 in Rocken, Germany. Although he was born in the 19th century, he was way ahead of his time. He grew up in a primarily Christian household, as his father was a priest. Christian Theology was a primary interest to Nietzsche. It was his favorite subject during school and also his initial University major and career interest. But Nietzsche lost this faith after reading David Strauss’s Life of Jesus and Ludwig Feuerbach’s The Essence of Christianity, which reduced Jesus and Christianity’s miracles to just myths.

Übermensch (super human)

In Nietzsche view, a “super human” is not necessarily super smart or super strong, but psychologically superior. They are someone who had full control over their emotions and find joy in simply existing.

Nietzsche also talks about the “Golden Dragon”. This “Golden Dragon” is the representation of the set of morals and cultures that have been set by society. A true free spirt is able to defend these moral and live by his own terms.
